Braids for the Brave is an event to bring members in the community out to the building site and show another way Post 2 can serve the community. The event organizer has a dream where every mother, father, and caregiver can connect with their child(ren) in a beneficial manner. The simple act of grooming can be so empowering. Whether you attend with your child, or wish to learn how to do simple hairstyles on yourself, this event is for you! There is no cost to attend, however, tax deductible donations will be accepted at the event!

Attendees will be provided with tutorials and time to practice the following hair skills: detangling, basic ponytail, parting hair (straight and zigzag), basic braid, and introduction to french braiding. Some basic supplies will be provided to each registered attendee.

This event will help the American Legion Post 2 reach out to new community members and ensure that the family friendly legacy of the post continues!

The American Legion Post 2 has been an important part of the Knoxville community for 100 years. They coordinate events such as the Veteran’s Day Parade, Mountain Man March, and support many other veteran events throughout the year. They provide funding for local JROTC programs, youth camps, and more.

Their previous meeting location caved in and was not feasible to repair. The post purchased the property and is now fundraising to build a new building to host various community and post events. All donations from this event will be donated directly to the building fund for American Legion Post 2. Tax receipts can be provided at the event.
